Wild fans will have to wait one more season to see Mikael Granlund on the ice for their favorite team.   Mikko Koivu attempted to persuade his fellow countryman to join the wild for the 2011-2012 season but Granlund had his own ideas.  Granlund’s representatives have informed the Wild that he plans to finish high school and a year of army service before entering the NHL.  When Granlund enters the NHL he wants hockey to be his only focus.  Mikael Granlund, of Finland, was selected 9th overall in the 2010 NHL entry draft by the Minnesota Wild. This past season Granlund helped lead HIFK to an SM-Liiga championship and Finland to a world championship. Recently Granlund has been receiving a lot of attention for his lacrosse style goal vs. Russia in the world championship semi-final.
