Twins end their 9 game losing streak at home with their first win at Target field since April 24th

Nick Blackburn continued his hot May by pitching a complete game and earning a 4-2 win over the Seattle Mariners at Target Field on Tuesday. Blackburn had a career high 127 pitches and allowed 2 runs on 7 hits with 6 Ks.  Blackburn provided the bullpen with a well needed day off after they have been batter and bruised in recent days.  Also, Joe Nathan, Matt Capps and Kevin Slowey were all unavailable for the game. Denard Span backed up his 3 hit performance yesterday with another 3 hits today and also earned an RBI in the 7th.  Jason Kubel tallied 2 hits and an RBI in the 1st inning while Alexi Casilla also had a great game with 2 hits and 2 runs scored including one run on a squeeze bunt by Matt Tolbert in the 3rd. The Twins will try to win the series in the rubber game tomorrow afternoon with Brian Duensing on the mound.  See the full Yahoo! Box Score by clicking here.
