Anthony Swarzak went 7 and 1/3 innings before his no-hitter was broken up. The ironic thing is that Swarzak was filling in for Liriano who just recently threw a no-hitter. Of course with the Twins, Swarzak’s amazing game was dwarfed by the fact that we had to go into extra innings to beat the Angels. Valencia hit a walk off single with the bases loaded and 1 out to win the game. Angel fans would probably feel pretty robbed themselves as Jared Weaver threw 9 scoreless innings with 7 K’s. Not many offensive stars in this game as it was an old fashion pitcher’s duel. The rubber match will be tomorrow with Pavano (2-4, 5.28 ERA) facing off against Haren (4-3, 2.13 ERA).
