Scott Baker was lights out going 8 innings allowing just 4 hits while fanning 10 and walking one. This was Baker’s first game since he threw a complete game in his last appearance. The story all month has been the Twins pitching. They still have the leagues best ERA in the month of June and they are simply carrying the injury plagued Twins. Matt Capps pitched a perfect ninth to grab his 11th save. If there is any reason to be pessimistic it is Minnesota only getting 1 run this game. It would be nice to see a few more runs in the box score just for some extra insurance but when the pitching is this good there is no need. The run came from a solo shot from Danny Valencia in the bottom of the second inning. This is his second straight game with a home run. Check here to get the complete Yahoo! box score. The Twins will look to complete the sweep tomorrow when Liriano faces off against Moseley. Liriano is fresh off his spectacular last game when he went 7 innings with a no hitter. If he can come close to matching that Minnesota will be in good shape tomorrow.
