After being damaged in a storm last December the Metrodome now has a new roof that was inflated and tested this morning. It only took about 45 minutes to inflate the new Metrodome roof, much less that the 3 hours it was expected to take. The new roof has panels that are more of a tan color than the previous white and the middle lets more light shine through. The roof is also slightly more flat than the old “puffy” one. Here is an inside view of the new look roof. The fabric strips hanging from the roof are for acoustic purposes. The old roof had them built in the roof but it hindered the capability to melt snow.
