The Twins fell behind by 3 runs early but put together 13 hits and 7 walks to score 8 runs and defeat the Royals by a final of 8-4

Francisco Liriano started for the Twins going 7 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 earned, on 7 hits with 2 walks and 4 Ks. The Royals struck early by taking a 2-0 lead in the first, they then extended that lead to 3-0 in the top of the 4th. The Twins were able to answer back in the bottom of the 5th by scoring 4 runs on 3 hits, all the hits with 2 outs in the inning. The Twins then added 4 more runs in the 7th inning on only two hits. They also had 3 walks and a hit by pitch in that inning. The Royals added their final run in the 9th inning. In his first game back from AAA, Trevor Plouffe went 2-4 with a walk, 2 RBI and 2 runs which included a big 2 run home run in the 4th inning. Delmon Young also shined for the Twins by going 3-4 with a run and RBI in his first game back from the DL.
