According to ESPN.com Delmon Young has been traded to the Detroit Tigers for left handed pitcher Cole Nelson and a player to be named later. Delmon was placed on waivers last week and the Tigers placed a claim on him. The Twins and Tigers had until the end of business on Monday to get a trade done and were able to do so. The player the Twins recieved is Cole Nelson, a 22 year old Edina Minnesota native picked in the 10th round last year by the Tigers. He was pitching in Class A for the Tigers. Looks like the Twins wanted to get something for Delmon instead of non tendering him this offseason and losing him with nothing in return.
