The Minnesota Wild had a busy offseason filled with high profile trades that brought in exciting players such as Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi. They also let go of well-liked veterans such as Martin Havlat, Brent Burns and Andrew Brunette. The offseason winds down this week as the Wild prepare for training camp starting on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday the Wild will hold practices and scrimmages open to the public at Xcel Energy Center. Tuesday the Wild will head to Edmonton for their first pre-season game. Mike Yeo shared his outlook on training camp including the projected lines you can expect to see on the ice. The forward lines will start out like this: Setoguchi-Koivu-Heatley, Latendresse-Cullen-Bouchard, Powe-Brodziak-Clutterbuck, and Gillies-Nystrom-Staubitz. The Defensive lines will start out like this: Zanon-Zidlicky, Schultz-Lundin, and Stoner-Spurgeon. These lines could change in the future but Yeo wants to give these lines and opportunity to gain chemistry together and make changes in the future if necessary.  I expect this year’s Wild to be much more exciting than previous years. They will play a more up tempo up and down the ice style. They will likely score more goals than past years but also may give up some more goals as well.
