We wrote a story earlier that the deadline for stadium proposals is January 12th. That date is approaching and as it gets closer it appears that the dream of a stadium in Arden Hills is becoming less realistic. Star Tribune did a lengthy article explaining why (check it out here) but the quick explanation is that it lacks funding. Three new Minneapolis solutions have been gaining steam and will come in full circle after the proposals are done. One of those sites is the Metrodomes current location but the Vikings are quick to dismiss that. The main problem with that site is that the Vikings will be forced to play elsewhere during construction and will lose money. Star Tribune has often been supportive of that site but there is reason to be suspicious about them in the past when dealing with the Metrodome site.
