Fred Pagac is still the Vikings defensive coordinator (even if his defensive line coach is gone) but that has not stopped Minnesota from interviewing other candidates to potentially replace him. They started by bringing in Raheem Morris for an interview. Spangnuolo could be next. Most will recognize the name because he created a name for himself by coaching the Giants to a dominant playoff performance capped with a Superbowl win against the then undefeated New England Patriots. Other Candidates that could be interviewed in the next week or 2 include Mike Singletary and Mel Tucker. Tucker previously served as defensive coordinator for the Jaguars and interim head coach after Jack Del Rio’s firing. Last year, Singletary was the linebacker and assistant head coach with the Vikings. All candidates seem well qualified and all have run a 4-3 front in the past, except for Singletary, who runs a 3-4 defense. With Jared Allen coming off an All-Pro season, it may be a tough sell for Singletary to change the defensive scheme up front.
