According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in trading for the Timberwolves Michael Beasley. This has no connection to the previously rumored Pau Gasol trade. Pau would not be involved in this deal. Instead, the Lakers would part with their $8.9 Million trade exception they acquired from the Lamar Odom to Dallas deal. Minnesota would like more than just a trade exception in return such as some draft picks and maybe a player. There is only one problem currently with this trade. Los Angeles doesn’t have many assets to offer not named Bynum and Gasol. Pay attention as this trade goes forward because it could be very interesting considering for once that the Wolves have the upper hand in regards to assets. As always, check back here and we will keep you updated when any new information is available.
