The Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk cut his hair, but not just as a publicity stunt, but rather to donate to wigs for kids.

Sure this isn’t really Minnesota news, but it has to be mentioned.  So often professional athletes hold themselves above the rest of the world, but here was a great example of Hawk giving something back (to quote the Simpson’s movie “…who wanted to give something back, not the money, but something”).

“Thanks to wigs for kids for partnering with us,my wife and I are proud to start Hawk’s locks for Kids which will be helping kids with cancer. No child should have to feel ashamed of themselves due to a disease. We are hoping to raise enough money and hair donations to change many lives!” A quote from Hawk via Profootballtalk.com.

Thanks Hawk for doing something honorable, perhaps the rest of the NFL can start to do such things.
