In a game that featured the two best young Power Forwards in the game, the Wolves were able to hold on at home and beat the Clippers by 1 (95-94).

On a night when Blake Griffin couldn’t do much more to help his team (26 pts, 12, reb, and 3 ast) he was still outplayed by Kevin Love (39 pts, 17 reb, and 2 ast).  The most important thing for Wolves fans however is that the team is playing well right now.  They have won 7 of their last 10 games, and are now the 9 seed in the west at just a game over 500 (20-19).  The remain only 1.5 games out of the 8th seed and are currently playing much better than the 8th seeded Houston Rockets.

The Wolves next three games are big.  First they will take on the Portland Trail Blazers who are the 10 seed in the west.  They’ll need that win in order to hold their current seed.  They follow that up with a game against the 3rd seeded Los Angeles Lakers.  This will be an important game as we go down the stretch to prove they can play with the higher seeded teams, and then finally they end out the week against the New Orleans Bounty Hornets (The city isn’t called New Orleans Bounty, I’ve been lied to again).  They Wolves have to prove that they are long gone from the days when the couldn’t beat the bottom team consistently, and burying at team like the Hornets at this point in the season is a must.  These are also all home games which makes it even more important to win before starting their 7 game road stretch.
