The Minnesota Vikings are in need at many positions on their roster, two of the most important are Defensive backs and Offensive line.

The Vikings are working to fix that without spending a lot of money, so those fans who are upset about not getting Nicks or Landry (he hasn’t signed, but doesn’t appear he’s coming to Minny anytime soon), need to get over it. That being said, I believe all of us here at MinneSporta are upset that we aren’t going after either of them too.

Geoff Schwartz, interior lineman from the Panthers, is one of the players the Vikings are looking at.  He is a versatile lineman that can play guard or right tackle. He is scheduled to visit Winter Park today. The other is Alan Ball. He spent most of last year playing some CB for the Cowboys but can also play Free Safety. The Vikings are going about this in a smart way. Sure it’s rough to not go after big names, but Landry and Nicks wouldn’t make Fred Evans not jump off side, and it also wouldn’t make Cedric Griffin (or now Brandon Burton) a good CB.

We just have to sit back and enjoy the ride as the Vikings attempt to rebuild their battered roster.
