Minnesota State University Mankato has decided to let their men’s hockey coach Troy Jutting go after 12 seasons with the team.

Jutting, who won the WCHA coach of the year in 2003 and 2008, will be paid about 200k for the remaining 15 months of his contract. While he had a few good seasons with MN State Mankato, they finished 11th in the 12 team WCHA the last two seasons. It appears that the team is going in this direction more for the lack of fans showing up to games than the poor play of the team, but those two things really go hand in hand.
