It is a bad blow to a team that has started 0-4 already but Scott Baker will under go season ending surgery. It is by the same surgeon, Dr. David Altcheck, that performed Kyle Gibson and Joe Nathan’s Tommy John surgery. The good news is he won’t be getting Tommy John surgery. Instead, he’ll have surgery to repair a damaged flexor pronator tendon that will require six months of recovery and rehab.

Minnesota holds a $9.5 Million option for 2013 but it is unlikely they will pick it up.
