After missing the beginning of the season because of a bicycling injury to his daughter, Jason Marquis has now joined the Twins roster.

He’s been pitching at the Double-A level to prepare, but had his first real test in his debut beating the Yankees last night.  The positive for him here is the Twins now are going to at least split this series with the Yankees.  Something they really need after getting off to a rough start.

This move meant they had to drop someone so they dropped Luke Hughes, to Triple-A.  Now granted it’s possible that Hughes could be picked up by another team, but the Twins aren’t really worried about losing him.  He hasn’t had a hot enough bat, and he’s isn’t a major defensive presence where it would hurt their team to not have him.
