With Utah’s 100-88 victory over Phoenix, that means the lottery protected pick is no longer protected. It can now be officially referred to as Minnesota’s first round pick. This is great news as the Wolves pick is owed to New Orleans because of an ancient Marko Jaric trade (yes, after this year we can finally forget that trade). The pick can still range anywhere from 15th to 18th depending on the outcome of the Knicks and Sixers’ final games. The opinion from scouts is that this draft will be historically deep, certainly one Minnesota doesn’t want to miss out on. The draft is not until June 28th but the good news is that the Wolves will be making a pick in round 1.
