Twins former MVP Justin Morneau is returning from the disabled list. His wrist apparently is feeling much better as the Twins plan to activate him for tonight’s game.

The interesting part is that the Twins have decided to demote 1B Chris Parmelee in order to make room on the roster for Morneau. Meaning that Morneau will have to see more time at first base. It’s also likely that Mauer will see more time there as well.

Parmelee has shown this season that the jump from Double-A to the majors was just too much for him. He finished out the season strong last year with the Twins (when everyone was injured), but otherwise hadn’t shown a whole lot of spark even at the Double-A level. Perhaps being at Triple-A Rochester will help him, and he can return strong for the Twins. The Twins need all the help they can get and perhaps the return of Morneau will be the start of it, despite not having played great his last couple of seasons.
