Alexey Shved is not exactly a household name but that could change. Shved is a 6’6″, 190 lb Russian guard for CSKA Moscow and is on a lot of teams radar, the Wolves among them (according to Sports.ru). Interest in Shved picked up last February when Wolves international scout Pete Philo began taking notice. The lingering question always remains about how his game will translate to the NBA. Scouting Shved shows that he can play either point guard or shooting guard. He also is a strong competitor with great basketball instincts and a strong skill to shoot the ball off the dribble, something lacking from last years Timberwolves.

Rumors have Shved looking for a 3 year deal in the $10-$12 Million range which is a bit overpriced. Shved’s agent has since come out refuting those claims. He is still under contract in Europe but all signs are pointing to him making a jump to the NBA next season.
