The Vikings said they were going to devote this week to getting all their draftees under contract and that is exactly what they are doing. Today, they signed 7 of their 10 picks this year. The list of newest Vikings include fourth rounders Rhett Ellison (TE, USC), Jarius Wright (WR, Arkansas), Greg Childs (WR, Arkansas); fifth rounder Robert Blanton (DB, Notre Dame); sixth-rounder Blair Walsh (K, Georgia); and seventh-rounders Audie Cole (LB, North Carolina State) and Trevor Guyton (DT, Cal). Guyton went as far as showing us a picture of his contract via Instragram early this morning. The only remaining unsigned players are first round picks Matt Kalil (LT, USC) and Harrison Smith (DB, Notre Dame) and third round pick Joshua Robinson (DB, UCF). Make sure you check out the player bios on all the players by clicking HERE.

The new CBA has made signing new players before training camp much easier than before. Gone are the days of month long rookie holdouts. With 3 players left to sign still no reason to worry. Training camp is still a long 9 weeks away and odds are the rest will be signed by the end of the week. It’s almost time to put last year’s 3-13 behind us and prepare for 2012.
