Blackburn has no structural damage

The Minnesota Twins are off to a rough start this year. It only continued the other day when Blackburn went out for a brief start against the Rangers on Saturday afternoon before feeling discomfort in his throwing shoulder.

After an MRI on the shoulder, it has been determined that there is no structural damage is his shoulder, just inflammation. It seems unlikely that Blackburn will find himself on the DL and it seems as though he may not even miss a start in the rotation.

Blackburn hasn’t been a phenomenal pitcher by any standards, but he’s been solid for the Twins over the last few years. So this should come as great news for the team and its fans.
