Apparently Christian Ponder has been extremely excited about the drafting of LT Matt Kalil, USC, everyday since the Thursday night’s draft.

Ponder told Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network in an interview that he can see himself growing old in the NFL, with apparently Kalil at his side (presumably his left side). This would be great news for the Vikings who haven’t had a young QB/LT tandem in recent memory, where both players were talented (sorry T-Jack). Continue reading

Vikings Rookie Mini-camp

The day I’ve waited for 6 long days is finally here. The Rookie Minicamp is underway in Minnesota and we should all be happy, it means we can almost officially start to put 2011 behind us. While scouring the internet for some good reading, I found this little video (thanks to Tom Pelissero) and it brought great joy to me.

The only issue that I have with the pick is that to me it seems like Wright plays the same position as our current best receiver, Percy Harvin. That doesn’t mean it is a wasted pick and Wright can certainly be a contributor to this team. Wright finished his career at Arkansas with 168 receptions for 2934 yards and 24 touchdowns. Wright is also somewhat of a burner with his coaches claiming he ran a 4.27 second 40-time. However, at the combine he only managed to run a 4.42. Check out some of Wright’s strengths and weaknesses.  Continue reading
